Fire guts Alaba Market in Lagos

Lagos, May 5, 2023 – The Alaba International Market in Lagos was razed by a fire on Friday with goods worth millions of naira burnt in the inferno. Eyewitnesses said the fire started from a gas shop where cylinders were stored before spreading to other parts of the market. Traders resorted to self-help to put out the fire before the arrival of emergency fire services. Ekweremadu jailed for 10 years  

Lagos, May 5, 2023 – The Old Bailey court in London has sentenced Ike Ekweremadu, former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, to nine years and eight months in prison for organ trafficking plot. Ekweremadu, who was convicted for organ harvesting by the court last month , was sentenced on Friday. Abuja, May 2, 2023 – President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday inaugurated a N9.5 billion Zuba Housing Estate in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.. Ortom advises lawmakers to resist last-minute attempt to pass open-grazing bill

Makurdi, May 1, 2023 – Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has advised federal lawmakers to resist any last-minute attempt to pass any bill on open-grazing reserve.
