Lagos, May 5, 2023 – The Alaba International Market in Lagos was razed by a fire on Friday with goods worth millions of naira burnt in the inferno. Eyewitnesses said the fire started from a gas shop where cylinders were stored before spreading to other parts of the market. Lagos, May 5, 2023 – The Old Bailey court in London has sentenced Ike Ekweremadu, former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, to nine years and eight months in prison for organ trafficking plot. Ekweremadu, who was convicted for organ harvesting by the court last month , was sentenced on Friday. Makurdi, May 1, 2023 – Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has advised federal lawmakers to resist any last-minute attempt to pass any bill on open-grazing reserve. Abuja, April, 28, 2023 – The Federal Government on Friday insisted that removal of fuel subsidy would still take effect in June 2023. Abuja, April 26, 2023 – Nigeria has recorded more than 152 deaths from Lassa fever this year. The Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) gave the statistics on Wednesday in its latest situation report.
