Lagos, Jan. 26, 2023 – At least 159 Nigerians renounced their citizenship in 2022. Dr Shuaib Belgore, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Interior, said this on Thursday at the 64th session of the State House Ministerial briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team at the Aso Rock Villa. According to Belgore, 150 Nigerians renounced their citizenship between 2006 and 2021, but 159 Nigerians renounced their citizenship in 2022 alone. (GBN)
Lafia, Jan. 25, 2023 – About 51 herdsmen were allegedly killed in an airstrike by unidentified helicopter in Ekye Development area of Nasarawa State on Tuesday. Abuja, Jan. 25, 2023 – The Senate has confirmed the nomination of a former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, for appointment as Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC). The confirmation followed resolution of the Senate on the report of its Committee on Police Affairs The report was presented on Wednesday by the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Haliru Jika (APC-Bauchi Central). With the confirmation, Arase will take over from Musiliu Smith, the former Chairman of the Police Service Commission. (GBN)
Lokoja, Jan. 25, 2023 -The Kogi Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Tuesday returned N3.2 million recovered from an accident scene to the family of the victim. Abuja, Jan. 24, 2024 – The number of Nigerians registered in the National Identification Number (NIN) scheme stood at 95.07 million as at Jan. 22, 2023. The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has just released the statistics in Abuja. The number is an increase of 1.04 million over the 94.03 million enrollees recorded at the end of 2022.
