Abuja, Jan. 20, 2023 – The 2023 national population and housing census will hold from March 29 to April 1, 2023. Abeokuta, Jan, 20, 2023 – Theophilus Oladipo Ogunlesi, the first Nigerian Professor of Medicine is dead. Ogunlesi, who hailed from Sagamu in Ogun State, died on Thursday at the age of 99 years. He became first Nigerian Professor of Medicine in 1965. Ogunlesi started his career as a medical doctor at Yaba College of Medicine in 1947. Confirming his death, the Ogun State Governor,  Dapo Abiodun, described Ogunlesi’s death as painful. NJC recommends appointment of 9 heads of court, 84 judges

Abuja, Jan. 20, 2023 (NAN) The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of nine heads of courts and 84 judges. The NJC Director of Information, Soji Oye, said in a statement on Friday that the decisions were taken at the council’s meeting held on January 18 and January 19, 2023. NCDC responding to diphtheria outbreak in Lagos, Kano

Abuja, Jan. 20, 2023- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) says it is responding to reports of diphtheria cases in Lagos and Kano States,, while monitoring the situation in Osun and Yobe states. African countries should stop energy subsidies – AfDB

Lagos, Jan. 20, 2023 -The African Development Bank (AfDB) has advised African countries to stop subsidies on energy consumption to release more resources to bridge the deficit in production. It said that energy subsidies was one of the reasons why Africa countries were experiencing energy insecurity. COVID-19: ICAO issues new guidelines on air travel

Lagos, Jan. 20, 2023 The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has issued new recommendations for countries on COVID-19-related requirements for air travel. FG to realise N11.54tn from highway concession
