Abuja-Kaduna train derails
Kaduna, Jan. 27, 2023 – The Nigerian Railway Corporation has suspended the train service along the Abuja-Kaduna corridor due to the derailment of the train at Kubwa in Abuja on Friday. FG extends deadline for registration of ‘loan apps’ again
Abuja, Jan 27, 2023 – The Federal Government has extended the deadline for the registration of Digital Money Lenders, otherwise called loan apps in Nigeria, to March 27, 2023. Babatunde Irukera, the Chief Executive of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) announced the extension in a statement in Abuja on Friday. Osogbo, Jan. 27, 2023 – Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, said he rejected the judgment of the Osun election tribunal which sacked him from office on Friday. The Osun Election Petition Tribunal, chaired by Justice Tertse Kume, sacked Adeleke as Osun Governor for established cases ofover voting. Election Petition: Tribunal declares Oyetola winner
Osogbo, Jan. 27, 2023 – The Osun Election Petition Tribunal has sacked Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State. It has declared Gboyega Oyetola as the lawful winner of the Governorship Election held in Osogbo on July 16, 2022. The tribunal said it sacked Adeleke due to over voting in some polling units across the state. The majority judgment of two judges against one ordered that Certificate of Return should be withdrawn from Adeleke and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola. (GBN)

Customs in Onne generated N242bn revenue in 2022 – official
Port Harcourt, Jan. 27, 2023 – The Nigeria Customs Service in Onne generated N242 billion as revenue in the 2022. Its Comptroller, Auwal Muhammad, said this on Thursday while handing over to the newly deployed comptroller, Baba Imam. Mr Muhammad said the figure represented an increase of 28.3 per cent over the figure recorded in 2021. Nigeria signs MoU with Niger Republic on joint rail line
Abuja, Jan. 27, 2023 – Nigeria on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Niger Republic on a joint rail project to link Kano in Nigeria to Maradi in Niger Republic. AfDB commits $10b to make Africa world’s food basket
