Lagos, Jan. 13, 2023 – About 30 million certificate holders who wrote the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from 1970 can now access and share the original copies of their digital certificates from anywhere in the world.
WAEC said that the introduction digital WAEC certificate will simplify the admission process for many Nigerians seeking to school abroad.
The Head of Nigeria National Office for WAEC, Patrick Areghan, said this on Friday during a webinar organised in partnership with UK-based Recognition Agency, ENIC.
According to the WAEC, the system will also remove any doubt on certificates presented by Nigerians.
According to him, the digital certificate initiative would support the mobility of students moving from Nigeria to other parts of the world.
Areghan said that before the launch of the platform, the old manual system consumed a lot of time and energy, coupled with other bureaucratic bottlenecks. (GBN)
