Awka, Dec. 15, 2022 – Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says he is the stepping stone to an Igbo presidency.
He urged residents in the state to vote for him if they wanted that dream realised.
Atiku made the pledge while on his presidential campaign in Awka on Thursday, saying he could make the presidential ambition of the Igbos a reality
Peter Obi, an Igbo man and the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, was Atiku’s running mate in 2019.
The two shared the ticket in 2019 on the platform of the PDP. They came second to the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Gov. Charles Soludo of Anambra welcomed the former Vice President and his team to the government house enroute the campaign venue. Both went into a closed door meeting.
Atiku revealed their discussions at the campaign rally, saying the governor had solicited for road works and erosion control.
He quoted the governor as saying: “I know you are going to work (as president), make sure all the federal government roads that pass through Anambra State are reconstructed.”
“I promised him I’m just going to do that.”
Soludo also said: “Make sure you help control our erosion because Anambra State is the erosion headquarters of the world,” Atiku said. (GBN)
