Akure, April 17, 2026 – Yòmí Oyékàn, a media and community development advocate, has led his platform, Akure Outsiders, into a strategic partnership with Stanfield Attorneys, spearheaded by E. D. Elabi Esq., Managing Partner, to facilitate the release of 50 inmates from maximum correctional facilities across Ondo State.
The initiative, described as a humanitarian and justice-driven intervention, is targeted at inmates eligible for release due to minor offences, prolonged detention without trial, or fulfillment of legal conditions for freedom.
Speaking on the development, Oyékàn noted that the effort reflects a commitment to social justice, rehabilitation, and reintegration, emphasizing the need to decongest correctional centres while giving deserving individuals a second chance at life.
E. D. Elabi Esq. also affirmed the firm’s readiness to deploy legal expertise in reviewing cases, engaging relevant judicial authorities, and ensuring due process is followed in securing the release of mostly inmates charged with minor offences who have been granted bail, but have not been able to meet their bail conditions.
The exercise is expected to involve collaboration with correctional authorities, the judiciary, and other key stakeholders to ensure a seamless and lawful process.
The initiative has been widely commended as a timely intervention aimed at addressing systemic delays in the justice system and promoting humane correctional practices in Ondo State.
