32-yr-old sentenced to death for robbing nurse of N57,000

Lagos, Jan. 17, 2023 – An Ikeja Special Offences Court presided over by Justice Mojisola Dada on Tuesday sentenced a 32-year-old vulcaniser, Chidozie Onyinchiz, to death by hanging for robbing a nurse of N57,000. Justice Dada held that the prosecution had proved the three-count-charge of conspiracy, armed robbery and membership of an unlawful society against Onyinchiz. Senate to adjourn for election campaigns

Abuja, Jan. 17, 2023 – The Senate will adjourn plenary next week to allow lawmakers to have time for campaigns for the forthcoming elections. Inflation rate drops by 0.13%

Abuja, Jan. 17, 2023 – Nigeria’s inflation rate stood at 21.37 per cent in December 2022 from the 21.47 per cent recorded in November, a drop of about 0.13 per cent . Rev Father Isaac Achi, the Priest of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church in Kafin-koro in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State, has been burnt to death by terrorists. The terrorists also razed the catholic parish house and injured his colleague, Father Collins. The incident occurred at 3.00 am on Sunday. NDLEA busts drug syndicate, seizes N5bn worth of Tramadol

 Lagos, Jan. 15, 2023 – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Sunday said it had busted another Tramadol cartel and seized over N5 billion worth of the drugs in a warehouse in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State. 10 feared dead in dawn accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Abeokuta, Jan. 14, 2024 – Ten persons were feared dead in a dawn auto crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday. The accident, which happened around 4.30am, also left two other persons with varying degrees of injuries, while seven came out of the wreckage unscathed.
