Abuja, Feb. 9, 2023 – The federal Government has ordered the closure of all universities and inter-university centres from Feb. 22 to March 14 over security concerns during the general elections. The National Universities Commission (NUC) gave the directive through a circular to all vice-chancellors of universities and directors/chief executives of inter-university centres. Calabar, Feb. 9, 2023 – Kidnappers of Prof Gertrude Njar, the Cross River State Commissioner of Women Affairs, have demanded N150 million for her release. The kidnappers are making the demand after her eighth day in captivity. She was kidnapped on Feb. 1, 2023.
