Tinubu to pay state visit to U.K. in March

Lagos, Feb. 9, 2026 – President Bola Tinubu is to pay a two-day State Visit to the United Kingdom from Wednesday, March 18 to Thursday, March 19, 2026.

This was announced at the weekend by The Royal Family in London through the official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

The statement reads: “The King and Queen will host the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the First Lady at Windsor Castle during the State Visit.

The statement confirmed that President Tinubu had accepted the invitation from the British monarch.

Tinubu’s state visit to U.K. will be the first by a Nigerian leader in last 37 years.

President Ibrahim Babangida was the last Nigeria leader to pay a state visit to the United Kingdom in 1989.
