Euro zone inflation falls to lowest in 2 years as economy slows

Frankfurt, Sept. 29, 2023 – Inflation in the euro zone fell to its lowest level in two years in September suggesting the European Central Bank’s steady diet of interest rate hikes was succeeding in curbing runaway prices albeit at a growing cost for economic growth. Oil falls as macroeconomic concerns dampen price rally

London, Sept. 29, 2023 – Oil prices fell on Friday in a volatile trading session as macroeconomic concerns weighed on the recent rally. Front-month Brent November futures were down 14 cents, or 0.15%, at $95.24 per barrel at 1442 GMT ahead of the contract’s expiry later in the day. 12 soldiers killed after rebel attack in southwest Niger

Niamey, Sept. 29, 2023 – Seven soldiers have been killed in Niger’s southwest in an attack by suspected rebels, while five others died in a traffic accident while trying to respond to the assault. Tribunal sacks Uba Sanni as Kaduna Gov.

Kaduna, Sept. 28, 2023 -The Kaduna State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Thursday sacked Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress as governor of Kaduna State. It declared the state governorship election, held on March 18, 2023, as inconclusive. The tribunal, headed by Justice Victor Oviawe, consequently directed that a supplementary election be held within 90 days. Lagos Red Line rail to start by December – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos, Sept. 28, 2023- Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, says the Red Line rail system will become operational by the end of this year.
