Lagos, July 14, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, naira, depreciated further at the official foreign exchange market on Friday, closing at N1,532 to the dollar.
The currency closed at N1,531 to the dollar on Thursday.
The naira has maintained steady depreciation in the last one week in spite of the interventions of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).n the foreign exchange market.
The apex bank injected $50 million into the official market last week to suppress the demand pressure on the naira.
The currency was traded betweenN1,540 and N1,545 to the dollar at the black market during the weekend.
