Lagos, Jan. 28, 2026 – The Nigerian currency, the Naira, appreciated further at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday, closing at N1,409.50 to the dollar.
The naira exchange rate at the market on Monday was N1,416.50 to the dollar.
Bid rates quoted by dealers in the market on Tuesday ranged from N1,400 to N1,415 to the dollar.
The steady appreciation of the naira in the market is due to the improved economy, effective management of the foreign exchange market and the growing external reserves.
Meanwhile, the naira is being traded at the black market in Lagos between Nim,483 and N1,488 to the dollar.
