Abuja, July 30, 2025 – The Senate has given the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) three weeks to respond to audit queries on the N210 trillion missing in its financial reports from 2017 to 2023.
The Senate Committee on Public Accounts gave the directive to Bayo Ojulari, the Chief Executive of the NNPCL, on Tuesday when he appeared before the committee..
Aliyu Wadada (Nasarawa West), the Chairman of the committee, gave the directive after accepting the apologies of Ojulari for his failure to respond to previous invitations of the committee.
He said the N210 trillion in question was neither declared missing nor stolen, but comprised N103 trillion in liabilities and N107 trillion in assets which must be must be accounted.
The committee chairman said the committee had 19 questions for the NNPCL which were extracted from the audited financial statements of the NNPCL from 2017 to 2023.
Responding, Ojulari pleaded for time to effectively respond to the 19 queries as he had just assumed office.
The committee, however, insisted on its three- week ultimatum.
