LASG approves 14 off-grid power distribution, metering coys

Lagos, May 11, 2026 – The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) has approved 14 independent power distribution, metering services, and interconnected mini-grid operations in the state.

Alexander Ogunbiyi, the Chairman of the Commission, distributed the licences and permits at the maiden meeting of the stakeholders in Lagos on May 7. 2027

The company said this in a statement, describing the move as a major step to expand private sector participation and improve electricity access across industrial and residential clusters.

It said the approvals also reflected its drive to deepen private sector participation in electricity delivery across the state.

The commission said the issuance of the licences,and permits aligned with Lagos’ broader strategy to decentralise power supply through embedded generation, mini-grids, and independent distribution systems.

It said the approvals were also to improve electricity access in industrial clusters and peri-urban areas while easing pressure on the national grid.

The company said it intended to achieve 97.5% electricity availability across in Lagos by 2030.

The licences were granted, amongst others, to Axxela Limited, which secured approval for a 5.8 megawatt power project at Cadbury Nigeria Plc in Agidingbi.

Isolo Power Gen Limited received approval for a 9MW power project along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Isolo, while Isolo Power Supply Limited obtained an Independent Electricity Distribution Network licence for the same axis.

Daybreak Power Solutions Limited secured multiple approvals covering facilities operated by Seven-Up Bottling Company in Oregun, Crown Flour Mill in Ikorodu, Nigerdock FZE on Snake Island, Nigerian Breweries in Iganmu, Nigerian Bottling Company in Ikeja, and Promasidor Nigeria Limited in Isolo.

New Hampshire Capital Limited received approval as a meter asset provider, while GossLink Engineering Limited secured licences covering 330KV and below operations as well as 400V vendor and importation services.

Enaro Energy Mini-Grid Limited received approval for interconnected mini-grid projects in Ishokan Phase 1 and Mercyland Phase 1 in Ayobo-Ipaja area of Lagos.
