Abuja, July 9, 2025 – Festus Keyamo, by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development on Wednesday in Abuja inaugurated the new board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The new seven-man board is headed by Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, a former Chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC).
Other members of the board are Olubunmi Kuku (Managing Director), T. P. Vembe, Dorothy Duruak and Ahmed Ibrahim Suleiman.
Keyamo said the inauguration of the new board had brought renewed commitment to service, safety, and progress in the aviation sector.
“This occasion marks not just a change in leadership, but a renewed commitment to service, safety, and progress in our aviation sector.
“As we inaugurate this new board, we carry the weight of national expectation to build world-class aviation infrastructure and foster socio-economic development,” he said.
The minister expressed optimism that the chairman would bring his wealth of experience and connections to bear on the company as a former Chairman of APC.’
Ganduje, in his acceptance speech, thanked the president for finding him worthy of the appointment and promised to provide purposeful leadership for FAAN.
“We will study the FAAN Act carefully to operate within our legal boundaries and avoid conflicts between the board, executive management, and the ministry,” Ganduje stated.
“We are committed to enhancing service delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining infrastructure functionality, and projecting a positive national image through our airports.”
Olubunmi Kuku, the Chief Executive of FAAN, also said the inauguration of the new board marked a new chapter in strategic growth of FAAN. She said she was confident that with the new board, passenger traffic and institutional governance would be strengthened.
