Abuja, April 5, 2023 -The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved N392.7 billion worth of contracts for census among others.
The Council approved N10.9 billion for the supply and installation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) components for the 2023 population census.
It also approved a contract for the development and implementation of mobile device management solution for the personal digital assistant devices to for the 2023 population census.
The FEC also approved a N3.3 billion contract for the development of external cost of infrastructure at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) new training academy.
A N65 million contract was also approved for variation in the cost for the supply of airport fire crash tenders in the Ministry of Aviation.
Garba Shehu, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, announced these while briefing correspondents after the Council meeting.
He said the contracts awarded for the NPC were based on memoranda presented to the council by the National Population Commission (NPC).
“Among those memos that were okayed today was the award of the contract for the supply and installation of information and communication technology (ICT) components for the 2023 population census.
“This is for the National Population Commission (NPC). It is meant for the census.
“The ICT component contract was awarded for about N10.9 billion.
“Another contract that was approved for the National Population Commission was the contract for the development and implementation of mobile device management solutions for the personal digital assistant devices to be used for the 2023 population census.
“This is in the sum of about N4.4 billion,” he said. (GBN)
