FEC reconvenes Tuesday to clear backlog of memos

Abuja, Feb. 4, 2025 – The Federal Executive Council (FEC) reconvened on Tuesday barely 24 hours after its meeting on Monday.

The Tuesday meeting commenced at 01:26 p.m. when Tinubu arrived at the Council Chamber.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, had on Monday, said that the meeting was spilling into the next day due to a long backlog of memos.

“Let me also say that another Federal Executive Council meeting is coming up tomorrow.

“Recall that since December, we’ve not had anyone, so many memos have gathered. And the President is determined to dispense with all of them.

“So, we want to say that tomorrow there will be another press briefing after the FEC meeting,” Idris had said..

Those at the Tuesday meeting included the Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, the President’s Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack and some ministers and ministers of state. (GBN)
