Eruku Church Attack: Kwara Gov. sends SoS message to FG

 

Ilorin, Nov. 19, 2025 – AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Governor, on Wednesday sent a ‘Save Our Soul” message to the federal government on the rising terrorism and banditry in the state.

He called for immediate deployment of more security operatives to support the existing security architecture in the affected areas.

Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, disclosed this on Wednesday in statement

The governor made the call after some terrorists stormed and attacked a branch of Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku town in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state on Monday evening.

During the attack, three worshippers were killed inside the church, while scores were abducted.

The governor urged the federal government to deploy additional security men to Ekiti local government area of the state.

He condemned the “unconscionable attack” and expressed sympathy to the people of Eruku and environs, especially their families and the church.

“The Governor has sought immediate deployment of more security operatives to support the existing security architecture in the area.

“He requested that this new measure be activated immediately,” the statement said.

The governor promised that the state government would continue to support security agencies to tackle challenges and ensure the safety of lives and property across the state.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for the recent deployment of 900 additional troops to the state.
