Dangote Refinery imports 1.46bn litres of blend stock in 5 months

Abuja, June 22, 2026 – Dangote Refinery has imported about 1.46 billion litres of petrol blend stock between January and May 2026.

Blend stock is an intermediate, unfinished petroleum product used in the oil industry.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) disclosed this in its May production statistics released at the weekend.

It said the refinery had been importing the blend stock to meet its production target for a period.

The refinery imported 658.3m litres of blend stock in January, 306.9m litres in February, 102.4m litres in March, 147.4m litres in April, and 240.6m litres in May.

Its current production level is 44.7 million litres per day, while the average capacity utilisation is 101.25 per cent.
