Dangote plans to list Dangote Cement on London Stock Exchange

Lagos, May 8, 2026, Aliko Dangote, the Chief Executive of Dangote Group, says he is planning to list Dangote Cement, a subsidiary, on the London Stock Exchange.

The listing is coming 16 years after the company was listed on the Nigerian Exchange.

Dangote, who disclosed this to Financial Times in an interview, said the listing on the London Exchange would provide the company with the much-needed boost for the United Kingdom market.

He said about 10 per cent of the company’s shares would be sold to outside investors through the London Exchange.

“We want to do a dual listing. We’ve been thinking about it for seven to 10 years.

“We ended up saying London is good as they have brought down the minimum listing requirements,” Dangote said.

Dangote attempted to list the company on the London stock exchange back in 2018, but faced some challenges.

The listing could take place around September 2026, subject to market conditions and investor demand.

The cement company has already selected some banks as financial advisers on the London listing.

The financial advisers include Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and Standard Bank.
