Nigeria Revenue Service projects N40.7trn revenue for 2026

Abuja, Feb. 10, 2026 – The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has projected N40.7 trillion revenue for 2026. The 2026 target represents about 44 per cent increase over the N28.29 trillion realised by the Service in 2025. Amina Ado, the NRS Executive Director for Government and Large Taxpayers, said this in Abuja on Tuesday at the NRS Management Retreat. Lagos, Feb. 10, 2026 – Nigeria’ external reserves have risen to $49 billion as of Feb. 5, 2026. Singapore, Feb 9, 2026 – Oil prices fell more than 1% on Monday as fears of a Middle East conflict eased after the U.S. and Iran pledged to continue indirect talks about Tehran’s nuclear programme, calming worries about potential supply disruptions. China’s external reserves rise to $3.4trn

Beijing, Feb. 9, 2026 – China’s total foreign exchange reserves made $3.3991 trillion at the end of last January, marking an increase of $41.2 billion, or 1.23 percent, compared to the end of December last year. The State Administration of Foreign Exchange explained in a statement that the U.S. dollar index fell last January, while the prices of major global financial assets generally rose, influenced by fiscal and monetary policies and market expectations in major economies.          (SABA- Yemen News Agency)

NDLEA intercepts 1.589kg cocaine from 62-year-old Nigerian businessman at Kano airport

Abuja, Feb. 8, 2026 – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 1.589 kilograms of cocaine from Nwabueze Nicholas Izueke, a 62-year-old Lagos businessman while attempting to smuggle out the drugs to China through Kano International Airport.
