UBA denies reports of fire outbreak at its head office in Lagos

Lagos, Sept. 16, 2025 – The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has debunked media reports of a major fire outbreak at its head office in Lagos.on Tuesday afternoon,

The bank refuted the reports in a statement on Tuesday.

It said the fire outbreak occurred at Afriland Tower, a six-storey building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, which also houses one of its branches.

The bank said contrary to reports circulating on social media and by some online platforms, its head office, UBA House on Marina, was not affected by the incident.

“We are aware of the fire incident at a building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, which incidentally houses one of our many branches in Lagos Island.

“As against reports on online and social media, the affected building is not UBA House, Marina, the Bank’s head office,” the bank said.

It assured of the safety and well-being of its staff, customers, and other visitors had been secured.
