Lagos, Sept. 16, 2025 – The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has debunked media reports of a major fire outbreak at its head office in Lagos.on Tuesday afternoon, The bank refuted the reports in a statement on Tuesday. Abuja, Sept. 16, 2025 – Nigeria recorded a trade surplus of N12.64 trillion in the first half of 2025. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) disclosed this in its latest report on Nigeria’s foreign trade just released in Abuja. The trade surplus represented a 54.6% increase over the N8.17 trillion surplus recorded in corresponding period in 2024. Tax ID not mandatory for all Nigerians – FG

Abuja, Sept. 12, 2025 – The federal government says the new law requiring tax identification number for operating bank accounts does not apply to all Nigerians, but only applicable to taxable adults. The new law, enacted under the Nigeria Tax Administration Act (NTAA), has made it mandatory for Nigerians to have Tax Identification Number (Tax ID) before operating bank accounts.
