NIMASA monitoring oil spill in Bonny, Rivers State  – official

Lagos, Dec. 16, 2024 – The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) says it is monitoring the oil spill at the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) loading terminal in Bonny, Rivers State. NIMASA disclosed this in a statement, assuring members of the public that it was on top of the situation. It attributed the incident, which occurred on Saturday, Dec.14, 2024, to a ruptured pipeline. Lagos, Nov. 1, 2024 – The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has reported that seven ships will berth with crude oil on Friday at the Lagos ports. The NPA, in its “Daily Shipping Position’, said that seven vessels, out of the nine expected, would berth with diesel, crude oil, bulk urea, petrol, and aviation fuel. “The remaining two vessels will berth with containers carrying different goods. Petrol scarcity will end Wednesday – NNPCL

Abuja, Aug.19, 2024 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has promised to resolve the current petrol scarcity by Wednesday. Olufemi Soneye, its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, made the promise in a statement. It blamed distribution problem for the current shortage. “The scarcity is due to an evacuation challenge out of Apapa (ports in Lagos) from the vessel. But we are working on it.
