Nigeria’s internet subscribers rise to 132m in September

Abuja, Oct. 31, 2024 – The number of Nigeria’s internet subscribers rose to 132.40 million in September 2024, from130.94 million subscribers in August. The figure represented an increase of1.45 million subscribers during the period. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) disclosed this in its latest industry report just published in Abuja. NATCOMS urges NCC to approve10% tariff hike for operators

Abuja, Oct. 21, 2024 – The National Association of Telecommunications Subscribers (NATCOMS) has appealed to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to approve a 10% tariff hike for operators.  The group said the tariff hike would assist the operators to meet the rising operational costs. FG to spend $2bn to deploy additional 90,000km fibre optic cables

Abuja, Oct. 15, 2024 – The Federal Government is to spend $2 billion on the deployment of  additional 90,000 kilometre fibre optic cables across the country. NCC commences pre-enforcement action against Starlink over alleged unlawful price hike

Abuja, Oct. 9, 2024 – The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says it has commenced pre-enforcement action against Starlink over alleged unlawful price hike. The NCC said this in a statement issued by Reuben Muoka, its Director of Public Affairs. The commission alleged that Starlink unilaterally reviewed its subscription packages upwards without the approval of the NCC.
