Telecom sector contributes 16.19% to Nigeria’s GDP in Q2 2024

Abuja, Dec. 19, 2024 – The telecom sector in Nigeria contributed 16.19% to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2024. The sector was the third largest contributor to Nigeria’s GDP during the period, coming after the crop production sector which contributed 20.35% and trade sector which contributed 16.39%. Number of active telephone users in Nigeria drops to 157m – NCC

Abuja, Dec. 16, 2024 -The number of active telephone subscribers in Nigeria stood at 157.6 million as of October 2024. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) reported this in its latest statistics posted on its website. This figure represents a drop of 60.79 million subscribers from the 218.4 million active subscribers recorded in January 2024. The number of active telephone subscribers in the country peaked at 219.97 million in February 2024.
