Benin, Jan. 8, 2023 – Thirty-two persons are reported missing after some gunmen abducted some passengers at train station in Igueben in Edo State on Saturday. The missing persons include the Station Manager, Godwin Okpe, Head of Security, Ikhayere, the ticketing clerk and a resident, Victor Osarobho. Nigeria has 13 new cases of COVID-19 – NCDC

Lagos, Jan. 8, 2023 – Nigeria has 13 new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lagos and Edo states, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC). The weekly epidemiological data from the agency said that Lagos has reported 12 new cases, while Edo State reported one between December 31 and January 6, 2023. This has increased the total number of confirmed cases across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to 266,463 with 3,155 deaths.   A total of 259,850 of the cases were discharged. …

Gunmen abduct passengers at train station in Edo – Police

Benin, Jan. 8, 2023 – The Edo State Police Command said it had commenced an operation to locate passengers who were abducted at the Igueben Train Station in Edo while waiting to board a train on Saturday. Man arrested for allegedly kidnaping father, collecting N2.5m ransom

Ilorin, Jan. 7, 2023 – The Kwara State Police Command said it had arrested a suspected kidnapper, Issa Naigheti, for allegedly kidnapping his father, Bature Naigboho, in Igboho in Orelope Local Government Area of Oyo State.
