Abuja, June 27, 2024 -The National Agency of Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed N985 million worth of fake, counterfeit, substandard, expired, and unwholesome regulated products. The products were set ablaze in Kano on Thursday. The products included antibiotics, antihypertensives, antimalarials, analgesics, herbal remedies, psychoactive and controlled substances. They also included creams, pomade, ointments and chemicals such as insecticides, pesticides, agrochemicals as well as medical devices that included diagnostic kits and infusion giving sets.
