Abuja, March 19, 2025 – President Bola Tinubu is held a close-door meeting with Vice Admiral Ibok-Étè Ibas (retd), the newly appointed sole administrator for Rivers State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.
Ibas arrived at the State House by12:48 p.m to receive formal briefing from the president on his new assignment.
He will steer the ship of River state for an initial term of six months.
Ibas’ appointment was announced on Tuesday during a national broad cast by the president.
The president had said in the broadcast that the administrator would be closely monitored by the federal government as his laws and rules on the administration of the state would be subject to the approval of the federal executive council,
Ibas was a former Chief of Naval Staff from 2015 to 2021.
