Abuja, Aug 12, 2025 – Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his achievements in managing the Nigerian economy.
The governor made the commendation on Tuesday after a visit to the president in Abuja.
He said he was impressed with the bold economic and structural reforms of the president since his assumption of office.
Soludo, who was a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, said the reforms were already yielding the desired results.
“I support him, and I’m impressed by the bold steps he has taken, particularly in the areas of the economy, the structural reforms, and I have said so severally times, we’re taking the right steps and we need to stay the course,” he said.
Soludo advised other political parties in the country to identify with the progressive elements in government to form a broad-based coalition to advance not only democracy, but also economic and social development in Nigeria.
The Anambra governor, who wore a fez cap bearing Tinubu’s insignia during the meeting, said he had been a long-time friend of the president for over 22 years.
“President Tinubu is my friend; he has been my friend for 22 years now and counting, so you don’t deny your friend.
“I have no apologies about it. President Tinubu is my friend. He has been my friend for 22 years now and counting, so you don’t deny your friend.
“You saw all the billboards proclaiming that progressives are working together. It is a fundamental idea that I believe very strongly—that all those political parties who profess progressivism should actually come together in a massive coalition to deepen our democracy and spur economic and social development,” he said.
