Abuja, March 18, 2025 – The House of Representatives has passed the controversial Tax Reforms Bills
The bills are the Nigeria Tax Administration Bill, the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment Bill), the Joint Revenue Board Bill, and the Nigeria Tax Bill.
The bills were sent to the National Assembly in October 2024 by the President in spite of the controversies they generated among the populace and the state governors over some of their provisions,
The bills were passed on Tuesday by the House after going through third reading.
The Committee of Whole House had earlier considered the bills clause by clause last Thursday after its Committee on Finance submitted its report and recommendations.
The bills are expected to be sent to the president for his assent.
