Abuja, July 23, 2024 – The House of Representatives has approved the increase of the 2024 budget from N28. 777 trillion to N35.055 trillion.
This was done on Tuesday by amending the 2024 Appropriation Act as sought by President Bola Tinubu.
The president said the increase in the budget by N6.2 trillion as supplementary budget was to accommodate the new minimum wage and other financial obligations of the federal government.
Th review of the Act followed the approval of the report of the House Committee on Appropriation.
The Chairman of the Committee, who presented the report of the committee for consideration, said both the House and the Senate agreed on the increase.
