Abuja, July 18, 2025 – The Presidency has announced the appointment of Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State.
Bayo Onanuga, a Presidential Spokesman, announced the appointment in a post on his X on Friday, following a visit by Governor Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio to President Bola Tinubu.
“Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno, and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday. Governor Eno is the APC leader in his state,” he wrote
Eno, who was elected the state governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, recently joined the APC.
