APC adopts direct primary for picking Kogi governorship candidate

Lokoja, April 12, 2023 – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted direct primary method for picking its governorship candidate in Kogi State.  The indirect primary method initially adopted was jettisoned following protests by some aspirants and stakeholders that the delegates list forwarded to the party’s national headquarters was questionable. FG approves N6.28bn for maintenance work on Third Mainland Bridge

Abuja, April 12, 2023 – The Federal Government has approved additional N6.28 billion for maintenance work on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, told correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday that the fresh contract was for maintenance of the pavement of the bridge. He said the contract, which would cover 11 kilometers stretch of the bridge, would include interchanges, ramps, and critical links. Arik Air founder barred from airline’s premises in spite court order

Lagos, April 12, 2023 – The Chairman and Founder of Arik Airline, Chief Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide, has cried foul over his inability to access the company’s premises on the directive of the receiver/manager in spite of a court order. Ile-Ife, April 12, 2023-A final year student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was reportedly beaten to death over theft of a mobile phone. The student, whose identity has not been ascertained, was said to have stolen a mobile phone at Awo Hall of the institution on Monday and was brutalized before he was rushed to the University OAU Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead on Tuesday when he was brought to the hospital. 12 persons died in auto crash on Enugu/Abakaliki expressway

Abakaliki, April 11, 2023 – Twelve persons, mostly women, died in a motor accident along the Ezillo axis of the Enugu/Abakaliki expressway on Tuesday in Ebonyi. IMF approves Nigeria’s tight monetary stance
