Port Harcourt, March 10, 2025 – Tony Okocha, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Rivers State, on Monday gave Gov. Siminialay Fubara of the state 48 hours to resign or be impeached.
Okocha, who made the call at a press conference in Port Harcourt, said the judgment of the Supreme Court was enough for him to resign.
He said Fubara was already sitting on a keg of gunpowder and called him to resign within 48 hours or face impeachment.
Okocha said the governor had ab initio disregarded the eight-point agenda for peace by offered to him by President Bola Tinubu.
He described the governor’s new invitation to the members of Rivers House of Assembly led by Martins Amaewhule as punitive.
The APC leader said Fubara was aware that the parliament would sit on March 10 before his invitation to them for a discussion on the Supreme Court judgment.
He said the governor had no right to invite the lawmakers to discuss the Supreme Court judgment since he was meant to present the budget to them.
