Abuja, Feb. 20, 2025 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) says it has successfully contained a fire outbreak on its dry crude storage barge BESTAF5 at Cawthorne Channel 1 in Rivers State.
The company announced this on Thursday evening in a statement issued by Olufemi Soneye, its Chief Corporate Communications Officer.
It said the fire was successfully contained through the swift response of its emergency teams and industry partners.
The NNPCL, however, said the incident did not affect flow station operations and there were no casualties as all the personnel were safe.
It assured that it prioritised safety and fully committed to environmental protection and operational integrity. (GBN)
