Abuja, July 24, 2024 – President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to shelve the planned protest slated for next month.
The nationwide protest, tagged ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest, is scheduled for between August 1 and 10 to protest against the rising cost of living and economic hardship in the country.
Idris Mohammed, the Minister of Information, made the appeal on behalf of the president on Tuesday.
The minister spoke to journalists after a meeting with the President on the issue on Tuesday
He said the president urged the organisers of the protest to shelve the plan and await his response to their complaints.
“The issue of the planned protest, Mr President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan.
“He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas. He has listened to them.
