Kaduna, Aug. 5, 2025 – The Kaduna State Government on Monday imposed imposed a 24-hour curfew on two major towns, Kaduna and Zaria as well as their environs.
The decision, which was taken by the state Security Council, led by Governor Uba Sani, followed a review of the security situation in the state in the wake of the mass protests.
In a statement on Monday, Samuel Aruwan, the state Commissioner in charge of Internal Security and Home Affairs, advised citizens to remain indoors, while security forces work to maintain safety and security.
He said the curfew would be reviewed when security situation improves.
The commissioner advised citizens to cooperate with the security forces and report suspicious activities.
