
Lagos, Nov. 19, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, the Naira, depreciated further at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday, closing at N1,458 to the dollar.
The naira had closed at N1,447 to the dollar on Monday, but lost N11.00 to the dollar on Tuesday.
Bid rates quoted by dealers at the market on Tuesday ranged from N1,44 to 1,459 to the dollar.
The currency has been depreciating steadily in the market in the last four trading days.
The exchange rate, which was N1,441 to the dollar last week Thursday, depreciated to N1,444 on Friday, and further to N1,447 on Monday and to N1,458 on Tuesday.
This was in spite of the injection of $50 million into the market by the Central Bank last week.
Meanwhile, the currency in being traded at the black market in Lagos at between N1,455 and N1,465 to the dollar.
