Lagos, July 7, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, Naira, depreciated further against the dollar at the NFEM, the official foreign exchange market on Friday, exchanging at N1,526 to the dollar from the N1,524 it closed on Thursday.
It had been sliding against the dollar in the preceding two days.
The highest quoted rate at the market on Friday was N1,528.5616 to the dollar, while the lowest was 1,530.
The U.S. currency, however. maintained its rates at the black market in Lagos at the weekend, trading between N1, 540 and N1,555 to the dollar.
