Naira depreciates further at official market Tuesday, closing at N1,441.75 to dollar

 

Lagos, Nov. 5, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, the Naira, depreciated further at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday, closing at N1,441.75 to the dollar.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the currency lost N3.75 to the dollar on Tuesday.

The naira had closed at N1,438 to the dollar on Monday.

Bid rates quoted by dealers in the market on Tuesday ranged between N1,430 and N1,442.45 to the dollar.

The naira had suffered some setback in the market in the last two trading days, which dealers attributed to higher demand for foreign exchange.

Meanwhile, the naira is being traded at the black market in Lagos at between N1,440 and N1,450 to the dollar.
