Lagos, Aug. 12, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, Naira, depreciated at the official foreign exchange market on Monday, closing at N1,538.45 to the dollar.
The currency closed at N1,534.90 to the dollar at the market on Friday.
The highest quoted rate in the market on Monday was N1,538.45 to the dollar, while the lowest rate was N1,526 to the dollar.
The depreciation of the naira at the market on Monday was in spite of the $150 million injected in to the market by the Central Bank of Nigeria last week.
Meanwhile, the currency was exchanged at between N1,540 and N1,545to the dollar on Monday.
