Lagos, Nov. 11, 2025 -The Nigerian currency, the Naira, appreciated slightly at the official segment of the foreign exchange market on Monday, closing at N1,437.50 to the dollar.
The currency gained N01,00 to the dollar on Monday, up from the N1,438.50 which it closed on Friday.
Bid rates quoted by dealers at the segment on Monday ranged from N1,435 to N1,442 to the dollar.
The naira has been appreciating steadily at the market in the last few weeks, which analysts attribute to effective management of the foreign exchange market, the rising external reserves and the improving outlook of the economy.
The currency has also been appreciating at the black market end of foreign exchange market.
It is currently being exchanged at between N1, 445 and N1,555 to the dollar at the black market in Lagos..
