Port Harcourt, March 21, 2025 – The federal government has released withheld local government allocations to Rivers State Government.
Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator, disclosed this on Friday during a meeting with Heads of Local Government Administrators in Port Harcourt.
He expressed concern over the delay in payment of their salaries of the affected workers across the local government areas.
The sole administrator said the necessary steps would be taken to pay the workers’ salaries without delay, adding that he felt their pains.
He decried the economic hardship in the Niger Delta in spite of the natural resource endowment in the area.
Ibas said the situation was unacceptable and called for more accountability from the government.
