Abuja, Aug. 8, 2025 – The federal government has released the second tranche of N35,000 wage arrears to its workers.
The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
It said it had earlier paid one month out of the initial five months outstanding arrears.
Bawa Mokwa the Director (Press and Public Relations), who signed the statement, said that with the payment of the second tranche, there would remain three tranches to be exhausted to settle the wage award arrears.
The OAGF said the federal government had not reneged on payment of the wage award arrears contrary to insinuations in some quarters.
It assured that the federal government will continue to pay the wage award in instalments of ₦35,000 per month until the outstanding arrears are settled.
