Abuja, July 14, 2023 – An Abuja High Court on Friday discharged Sen. Rochas Okorocha of all allegations of corruption filed against him when he was governor of Imo State by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Okorocha was governor of Imo State between 2011 and 2019.

While delivering judgment in the suit, the Presiding Judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, said the action of the anti-graft agency was a gross abuse of the judicial process.

He said the EFCC should be seen to be a respecter of the law that created it.

This is the third time Okorocha has been freed by courts in respect of alleged fraud and corruption said to have been committed while he was the governor of Imo State. (GBN)
