Abuja, March 30, 2023- The Federal Government has approved N24.2 billon for the provision of free internet services at 20 airports across the country.
The free internet services will also be extended to some higher institutions and markets to support small and medium-scale enterprises.
About 43 higher institutions will benefit from the project.
This was announced by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Is Pantanmi, on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
He said the National Communications Commission (NCC) would spearhead the delivery of the internet services, while a contract for the provision of brand band services at the airports had been signed.
Pantanmi said the beneficiary airports would be selected on geo-political basis. (GBN)
