Ado-Ekiti, June 21, 2026 – Biodun Oyebanji, the governorship candidate of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Ekiti State governorship election conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
He was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Sunday.
With the victory, he becomes the first governorship candidate to have won the election two times consecutively.
According to the results declared after the final collation, Oyebanji won decisively in 16 local government areas of the state.
He polled 319, 224 votes to defeat his closest rival, Wole Oluyode of the PDP, who scored 40,543 votes.
Oluwadare Bejide of the ADC, came third with 12,872 votes.
According to the final figures, 384,940 accredited voters participated in the election out of 988,251 registered voters across the state.
