Awujale Stool: Fusegbuwas Royal House finally rejects Wasiu Ayinde’s claim to lineage

Ijebu- Ode, Dec. 11, 2025 – The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode has finally rejected the claim of Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, a Fuji musician, to the lineage of the royal house in his bid to contest for the stool of Awujale of Ijebuland.

The ruling house announced this in a statement on Thursday, declaring Ayinde’s application as null and void.

According to the statement signed by the Chairman of Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, the family faulted the certification of Ayinde’s form by Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye, “a purported family unit head,” who is not a recognised member of the Jadiara Royal House.

The ruling house also queried the timing of the endorsement of the form which was signed two days before Ayinde signed the application form.

It said its extensive investigation did not reveal any proof of Ayinde’s membership of the Jadiara Royal House or indeed that of Fusengbuwa Ruling House.
